Video game developers, Riot, have agreed to sponsor the Birmingham City University’s Online Gaming Society in any future tournaments or events based on the popular League of Legends game. The group’s leader, Alex Parkinson, said:

“Riot agreed to sponsor us with the standard tournament prizes for any tournaments we hold  (a character skin and the online currency, RP, for first place with smaller RP rewards for second to fourth place)  they also want me to send them write ups for any League of Legends related events and are happy to help with any problems we may have.”

In order to meet with tournament rules the gaming society is currently trying to find 40 participants for future events in order to meet the minimum requirement of eight-man teams. They also added that they plan to set up a paint-balling trip in order to raise funds in the coming weeks.
